The first mounting type is surface mounted, which will have the cassette installed on the outside surface of your door frame with tracks running along the top and bottom of the door frame. The second mounting type is in the jamb, which would have the cassette mounted inside the jamb of your doorway with the tracks running along the top and bottom of your door inside the jamb. Keep in mind that your door needs to be configured properly to be able to mount your retractable screens in the jamb.
Size Customization
The 1750R retractable screen door is intended to be installed on single doors or smaller French door sets. The maximum height that a 1750R retractable screen can be made is 9 feet high. The maximum width that a 1750R retractable screen can be made is 3 ¼ feet. For French Doors, you would have to install two 1750R retractable screens on either side of the doorframe, and the screen units would meet in the middle.
